Last night, 7:30 rolled around and we decided to take our nightly trip down "Boy, this show makes me feel stupid!" lane and watch "Jeopardy". We watched and tried to answer the questions before the contestants rang in. Getting some. Not getting others.
The following question was read from the category about Queens: "Featuring a calandar and a barometer valued at over ten million dollars, a watch ordered in 1783 for THIS queen took until 1827 to finish. Sadly, she wasn't around to see it."
Before anyone rang in, my son pumped his 12-year old fist in the air and shouted, "QUEEN LATIFAH!"
We erupted with laughter. Obviously, they hadn't gotten to the subject of queens yet in school.
Later, I couldn't help but think, "Shouldn't we all just jump on in with wild abandon now and then. Just go for it. Don't hold back, even if you might be wrong. Isn't it easier living with having failed than to never have tried?"...So, next time maybe your answer might also be..."Queen Latifah!"
