A long awaited break
Weekend away to a lake
The room’s so cozy, perfect
Bed with white linen and outside a wooden deck
Relaxing outside to watch the awesome sunset,
Then later on it’s time to go to bed
Everything’s just right, hubby holding me tight
But, my sleep didn’t last long, suddenly I sit up right
They’re here, I can feel them, then I start to see
Outline’s of men in ceremonial robes, they came for me
Adrenaline rush, horrifying fear fill me, how can this be!
I left them years ago, I am free, so I believed
Panic rises as they draw closer, a terrifying setup
I’m scared, I must wake my husband, wake up! Wake UP!
I scream, but I have no voice, my whole body’s numb
Tears run over my cheeks, “not again!, please let them be gone!”
I constantly try to move, but my husband doesn’t wake up!
Awful sounds fill the air as I desperately try to scream again
From afar I hear “honey wake up! You’re dreaming wake up!
I open my eyes, relief indescribable, hubby looking down on me, it was just a dream, again…
