As we create in our paths the rest of this year
remembering the good that made us smile
the sweet that made us sigh
the hurts that made us cry
the trust that we had to hold on to and not fear
to survive the whole 2008 mile
and the moments that took our breath away
and can't not thank you all for being there for me
to help to break my fall
to hold out your hand
and help to set me free
most of all, to make me smile
we have but one month before this year is done
one month to make sure that our friends know we care
less than that to shop, I hope you've begun
but most of all, my dear friend,
I want you to be aware
my list of true friendships are not long
life has this habit of stealing before the end
that which we all wish for, our heart's song
but you are on my list of heart's desire
you have stayed and stuck it out with me
that, in my heart, is grace, heaven's fire
and I wanted you to know
how much I thank you and wish you well
cause you see
there's only a little left of this year
and you made me hold on
you have been to me a constant and great pal
and thanks for the moments that took my breath away
