somewhere on my way -
up towards the stars
whilst aiming to the moon
with my feet still on the ground -
i saw you.
somewhere on the road -
on the long and winding path
of being me and becoming me
a path often lined with shadows and sun -
i met you.
somewhere along my travels -
searching a truth and a meaning
travels calling me to undiscovered places
my feet dusty with all of my yesterdays -
i lost my heart on you.
pieces of me scattered across the shores
washing me in and out with the tides
my heart has lead me in circles
far far too long
but I am breaking away
breaking free and turning around
i have lost my heart but
i finally understand
that today my footprints
will lead me right back to you.
this is my traveller’s confessions
a wandering girl with starry eyes
and this world her only home -
this is where i've been.
i wish my words to grow wings
to fly across the horizons of space
against a dove grey sky
and settle on your windowsill
on a snowy day.
may you let my words into your soul
breathe them in with the icy wind and cold
bringing you a story of warmth
of everlasting love
but mostly a story telling you of the distances
i would walk to reach you, to see you waiting
as i reach the end of this journey
