Come one, come all of you,
I need to get rid of a thing or two!
Today only for a mere price it shall be,
some goods will actually be given for free.
I am closing this old shop of mine,
because it has withered and aged with time.
Some of my stuff are covered in appliqué,
should actually be categorized as antique.
This old jacket so many years I have worn,
it’s pockets are filled with hatred and scorn.
But today was it’s last day in my life,
as I’m getting rid of struggle and strife.
These shoes, don’t know how long they have been worn,
possibly from the very day I was born.
Cannot for sure say everywhere they have been,
I am unable to categorise all they have seen.
But, quite frankly, my dear I don’t give a pit,
today is the very day I’m getting rid of all of it.
So good-bye dear shoes, so tattered and torn,
never again by me will you be worn.
Next, it’s time to get rid of this long, black cape,
never again to be used as a form of escape.
So go on, get away now, get off with thee,
the whole wide world are now allowed to see me!
One by one I am giving stuff away for free,
I don’t need them and mine they will no more be.
From smelly old socks filled with memories of days gone by,
to hats and mittens that I have, I can’t even remember why!
It’s closing down time, time for a sale, throw things away,
in my life the unwanted things will no longer stay.
I will no longer in this way of life be satisfied
will not to days long gone by be tied.
I have made a decision and I’m going to stick to it!
I will not be in bondage or have any part in it.
I will rise up with boldness in my heart and I will sing,
as I am lifted, I am cleansed, let freedom ring!
