In the sabulous Namib desert
between Welwitschia and gecko’s
where fast sidewinders glide
over yellow dunes big and small...
lies a brittle sandy rose!
It has been formed to perfection
from God’s natures laboratory
through hundreds years of wind
hot and freezing cold air!
Be careful not to pick it up
or to step on it for pleasure
it will just crumble in you hand
or under your feet
and turn to desert again!
And with break of morning
dew will be all over the dunes
like angel tears shed...
over another destroyed creation!
