I was alive when you entered my life
going through the motions, being someone else’s wife
I breathed life into his children’s eyes
but I was waiting alone for my own sun to rise
all the time meeting friends and foe
each time we met deep within our souls
we knew then that only fate will know
how we were to embrace, our lives to twine
and you to be forever mine
when you came to me
I knew not how much I were to feel
when you stood by me
all I knew was our friendship was for real
and you kept on standing still
I was lost, my heart was broken up inside
but you stayed and gave me somewhere safe to hide
you stood still, held me in your arms at night
and waited patiently for my pain to take flight
your embrace when my heart began to see
coveted my soul and you gave yourself to me
you gave me life and breathed a smile into my eyes
I was home and in yours our sun would rise
and now our lives are
finally a prayer that has come true
my dream ahead, my deepest wish
that God would bless my life with you
and forever for it to be true
