the day looms large in its crystal beauty
transparent blue skies to drown in
not a cloud to hide a second coming
no nirvana on the skyline
or even a magic carpet in sight
it just seems so unlikely
for this one to drop on our heads today
but I am after all afraid
of my diaphanous turn of phrase
of my point and giggle at fate
and my oft stated disbelief
it is just so frightfully scary
to be so recklessly lippy
