The chameleon tail is an unexpected thing
a knobbly flourish in perfect spiral
and turn the bugger around and astound
at its whimsical reptile smile
above which one eye
peers at you pinprickly
while the other scans
for the odd dragonfly
Us he must find
even more weirdlike
with flat pink surfaces
eyes together in movement
glistening pools between tufts
but no tail to speak of!
