being blinded by the words
of our most favourite song
oh, how I need you, my love
where did we ever go wrong
so absurd, as I can recall
every phrase haunting me
no truth in those words at all
as this was not meant to be
loving you, deep, relentlessly
ignored painfully deliberately
you knew the way to my heart
loving you selfless, close I stood
then, bit by bit it all came apart
you never were in loves mood
nevertheless you tried to be smart
nourishing ate the deceitful food
my only mistake was so bad
loving too much for too long
believing you were all I had
living the charade of a song
thinking ‘tis where I belong
what did I actually do wrong?
