Christmas time is drawing nigh and everyone feels gay;
Children laughter fills the air, setting out to play.
Cars dashing through busy streets, they have somewhere to go
Little feet amidst these scenes are rushing to and fro.
Parent! Could one be your child?
Innocent, frail, little beings we love
They asketh naught, they`re our gift from above;
Why should we leave them to fend all alone?
On side walks, in streets, far from their home.
Parent! Do you know where your child is?
Parents should realize the need to teach
Their youngsters to stay quite out of reach
Of the dangers that lurk around each bend
Leaving heartache, despair, time can only mend.
Parent! Where is your child?
Uninterrupted the play goes on….
Shrieks of delight prove that life is fun!
Then…suddenly, screeching brakes cleave the air…
Shrill screams of anxiety….blood stains the fair hair…..
Parent, was this your child?
It`s Christmas time and all around folks express
Wishes of hope, goodwill and happiness…..
But, somewhere in a home is an empty place
And shamelessly tears run down the face.
Parent! Where is your child?
