As we walked hand in hand
Through Wright's hay field
Yellow buttercups
Blue corn flowers
And a thousand kinds
Of long grass
Parted at our step
We sank together
Into a green nest
And enjoyed each other
As young lovers have done
For a million years
Afterwards she made
A long chain
From the oxeye daisies
I plucked for her
Her smile was warmer than the sun
Her cheeks still flushed
And reddened
Her eyes sparkled
And I was ten feet tall
