A mother on her last breath, heaving to share her last,
As brothers stand next to her bed to listen to her words,
A mother about to leave the world as we know it,
A Son in dire need to change back time and experience her bright...
A tribute she would write, only if she could,
about the wonders of her sons she raised in cold,
the right side of life she shone the torch's light,
so that they too could experience the world's delight...
My child, my mother would say,
'Don't worry, I enjoyed my life, we had fun,
I dedicate my life to you, carry on,
I will be rest assured by your Father, Sister and Bro...
Yet, no words would be heard by the brothers in arms,
Standing in awe at their now flesh-weakend mom,
never has she ever been this poor in harms,
helpless they stare into her eyes, hoping to see just one...
Just one more sign, one more word,
just one more signal that she knows they were there,
yet all that is heard, is the beeping of the heart,
the swishing of the O2 machine's lair...
But, the mother's soul is stronger than that of the flesh,
her presence is felt, her strength building their's,
her life now to be sunk into the only two left,
the two to carry the name she so devotedly loved...
A Mother's tribute is truly felt when her breath is heard,
her bossom that so used to comfort, now a dying drought,
her loving eyes once so caring and full of hope,
lifeless deep behind the lids it rests to be left in fate...
A mother's tridbute is the worst to be felt,
cause helpless the sons stand without a women's strength,
the strength that once used to discipline and loved,
helpless they now have to go into the world's booth...
Knowing that their childhood once a reality,
now a mere dream with HER that used to comfort,
no longer a possibility, but a mere reverie,
with the knowledge that they only have eachother, Boet!
A Mother's Tribute, to her sons,
Do not waste your time on earth in sadness and dispair,
do not wallow in the absence of HER living flesh,
but rejoyce in HER re-union with the ones lost in life's war...
A Mother's Tribute... Pride, joy and Love...
Go spread what I taught you, my boys,
Know that you will always be mine,
I will always be yours... Just look into your heart, my son!
A Mother's Tribute...
