This was never meant to be
death sentence hovering over me
metal walls obstructing my mind
how could life ever be so unkind
reality relentlessly taking its toll
contemplating the status of my soul
like cancer gnawing deep into my brain
cold shivers down my spine, again and again
like a tin mug scraping over iron bars
thoughts badly mutilated by painful scars
in the shadows of these walls I hear your voice
it was an accident, love, I had no other choice
footsteps approach, oh, God, this is not fair
my food untouched, they've shaven my hair
forgive me, my love...as I walk the lonely isle
I am so afraid...I see the Angel of Death smile.
