so many times I have witnessed and heard
and to me to this day, it sounds absurd
“she never leaves me alone,
never ever can I do something on my own.
Doesn’t she realise that sometimes
one has to have your own breathing’ space”
and so the question remains
strangely, now I reflect on how even I
have run like the wind in order to try
and find that special inner peace from the outside
but not matter how hard I’ve tried
I always clocked a land speed record
before I hit the inevitable wall
and so the question remains
do you care what life has dished at you
can you admit ‘I’m fancy free’
do you stare life in the face
and shout “Look at me!”
is the one you’re holding on to
your happily ever after
or
does the question still remain
is there someone better out there
But now
My life has settled into that peaceful zone
where I’d rather spend it with you, not alone
where no-one else can fill your place
no one else can light up my space
you’ve finished my painting, my
inner whole world complete
All the wishes and prayers
I sent at that shooting star
dreamed as I stared at the rainbow
from afar
every prayer I’ve whispered
it has been heard
you are the breath that
courses through my veins
