I’ve been there today
Roses in hand,
To greet you
As you lay
In merciless sun…
I’ve been there today,
Hoping to find Grandpa there,
So much I wanted to say,
But for the first time I am speechless,
Words fail to say the right things,
Tomorrow I need to get back to school and life
Continues… without you
I turn… one last look at the pink roses,
Standing there in holy salute,
To a wife, so dear,
A mom so kind
And a Grandma…
No… correction my Grandma,
Whose life was much too short…
I turn I walk away,
And leave you to rest in peace,
Oh broken soul
