The first time I saw him I knew
That He would be the man
That would come between me and my partner.
He was shorter than me and slightly older.
Twinkling blue eyes
And soft,thinning white hair and beard
All perfectly barbered.
Our first meeting was intense.
I was nervous and so was he.
When we shared our first kiss he trembled
And I held his hand to stop him from shaking.
We had what only seemed like moments
Could I really feel this level of excitement
From doing something so terribly bad?
The answer was YES.
We enjoyed a near weekly meeting.
He was so gentle and caring
I always wanted to explode when he touched me.
My inner fire had been re-ignited.
For many months we sneaked and lied
To share those magical few hours together.
It was dangerous, this we knew, but worth every minute.
I grew to love him very quickly.
Last week things changed.....I'm not sure why.
And now it is an affair that was had.
Instead of being had.
I will always have you in my heart.
