I'm sitting next to a busy road
on my shoulders is a heavy load
i'm so thirsty my mouth is dry
and i'm wondering ......why??
when Dad stopped the car, i started to run
I thought we were there to have some fun
but when i looked back, the car wasn't there
they left me all alone, don't they care??
The light is starting to fade
alone in the dark, i'll be so afraid
i'm wondering, what did i do wrong?
In the heat i am sweating and starting to pong!
There in the distance i see them come
but as it comes closer, i see it's not Mom
Please!! Daddy! Mommy! come and get me
I promise to be a good dog, you'll see
But nobody stops they just ride by
and all i can do is sit here and sigh
why are people so cruel
or is that the rule??
I'm hungry and scared and it's getting dark
as loud as i can, i sit here and bark
they won't leave me here, they love me!!NO WAY!!
then!... next thing i know, i'm in a kennel at the SPCA
