This life here
will now become harder
slowly it will erode away
piecemeal but relentless
so the fuzzy stuff will end
Our chances for redemption
blown on greed and invention
Once the plains are cleared
decimated of its last twig
When the hills are flattened
and the valleys filled
When it’s all sucked dry
and concreted over
When hermetically sealed
and tightly cling-wrapped
When all is engineered

When all that was different
are now toeing the line
our rampant thoughts sterilised
