I could wish for a beautiful place
a mansion to move about in stately grace
I could wish for a lot of money
a life filled with just milk and honey;
I could wish for so many things
mink coats, luxury cars and diamond rings;
a life surrounded by all the wealth
that I`d never need worry about my health,
but, can this give me what I have,
a home filled with laughter and with love,
with sunshine and happiness every day,
no heartaches and loneliness to mar my way?
Can it bring me real joy, or moments of peace
between cold walls, where all realities cease?
Can money buy me blessings, or per chance
the gift of music, or the voice to enhance
and warm my surroundings with a lovely song
admiring the beauty as the day goes along –
realising with joy as the wind sweeps the trees
there`s a message to me in every cool breeze
and even as the sun scorches the earth
I have much more than all these riches are worth!
