A nation milord
a people as such
succession amounts to
nothing
but much
ado about
a sacred vow
drafted by a black man
and disregarded by the original frontiers
who fought
in that blessed war
while they trekked
each one in his own direction
we are a mixed race in every sense
our loyalty to ‘our blood’
is not very dense
while we should work together
we like to insult each other
when we differ in our thinking
this despite the fact
that many of us claim to serve
a God of love
