I resonate under the title
‘Afrikaner’
by means of fate
and when I think of my ancestors
of late
I do not decide in principle
how my memory should treat them
I take no philosophical stance
but reason
day to day
and consider it my best chance
I do not speak on behalf of anyone
and answer only to myself
and lay the bones
so strong
so weak
in line with principals pertaining to general health
