I know this place I stand tonight
not by colour, or darkness or by my sight
but by the fear within me
withholding my air
the disillusionment of how unfair
my failure lies beneath me
around me
all abound
my heart and tears and pride on the ground
I stand in the darkness
stripped of answers
my heart jerks
my breath gasps
my fear, my failure lies so deep
there are no answers
no solutions make light of this
I stand naked in the darkness
and pray for the cup to pass

and allow my heart to miss…
