Beauty and grace beyond compare,
wilting buds, all others who dare
compete for the passion that burns my soul,
with you in sight, my heart’s only goal.
I challenge the sunlight and dance with the moon,
an African beat or eastern monsoon?
I walk the lonely road, as I pay love its dues,
yet my mind is my anchor, to you, my muse.
Long be the pain when I am not by your side,
and fleet the moment, in my arms you hide.
Faith in true love is the breath of my life,
but trust in humanity, the ‘Achilles’ of my strife.
I bathe in the vision of you in my dreams,
my hands reaching out, my chest bursting its seems.
Yet out of reach, out of touch you stay,
as I falter my steps, as I loose my way.
Trapped is my soul, in a cage of despair,
strangled my voice, gasping for air.
All that I am wants to believe,
but if you are the one . . . why do you leave?
Life is not perfect, only moments are such,
as I linger in the warmth from your fading touch.
I stand here, . . . a fool, . . .honest in his way,
never to know true love, . . . as yet again, my angel walks away. . .
