This is my hiding place
From my past, sometimes my emotions
There’s no saving grace
No mercy lotion
Sometimes torturing whirlwind memories
Because there’s no changing the past
No starting over, no new beginnings
My history will always stay overcast
Live with it for the rest of my life
Deal with it and live for today and change the future
Forgiveness will relieve the torture
But the ghosts will always haunt me from time to time…
No more encouraging people to fall
No more leading them into temptation
No more playing with fire
My soul is no longer for hire
Too much hurt and pain caused…
But when I feel hurt, disappointed or angry, I still get tempted
With the false powers so magnetically scented
Yet I know it’s all an illusion, a death trap, it will never last…
