Now as these words keep me from a lasting slumber
The urgency to commit them to paper becomes a pin keeping my lidless eyes from closing and entering the dream place I have so extendedly longed for.
This bed that I find myself unconvincingly laying upon as though I’m off lead flung into the uncharted depths of the ever expanding ocean, seems to feel now as coarse as the abrasive sand of the Sahara and as vast as her open planes.
Never in all my imaginings have I known the unhappiness that I have inevitably brought upon myself, deciding in earnest, that solitude would be hence forth my closest companion, though I never dreamed that I would come to despise my escort of loneliness so.
Laying here I reach for but a hint of remembrance, but through my fingers it does slip.
No longer can I recall the color of your eyes and your smiles seems but a distant suggestion of an emotion I have chosen to forget.
Even so the smell of your cologne lingers in my memory and on my pillows and threatens to expose my greatest fear. You see although I am unable to recollect the exact colour of your eyes and the feel of your gentle, though eager touch upon my naked skin, I dare not shy away form the fact that lays before me as you once did open, awaiting my affection, the fact that follows me as though my shadow itself needs to tell its tale and stand witness in this trail against me and the wrongful death I have committed against an innocent love.
Therefore I now stand shackled unable to move back or forth, unable to hold fast to the one thing I swore my life depended upon, the very thing that forced the ground to give way beneath our feet.
I have always had trust in this thing and this trust allowed me faith, and losing that trust hurled my faith into an abbes to dark to even gaze upon and to deep to comprehend and as I now find myself at this all to familiar place I have come to need that faith back but it has been stolen and I fear that without it my sorrow would be past healing.
