man-made monsters
agile motorized masterpieces
a congregation of idols
this concrete jungle
where wildflowers grow
as parking meters
palm trees
as unbending street lights
natural stone
carved to statues
of long forgotten heroes
their metal smiles
carbon copies
of the people who stop to stare
all round
spoilt spaces of nature
obstructions of growth
skyscrapers
reaching into polluted skies
darkening the streets
A stagnant station
where I’ll wait
for a high-speed
railroad snake.
