At first it’s a struggle
You twist and turn
You’re like a rough diamond
Trying your best not get burned
And really not liking that Stonecutter
That shapes and cuts you bit by bit
Wishing for that day you can finally be served on a golden platter
Nobody likes change
Although it goes unnoticed
It happens every minute of every day
It sometimes makes life gay
And sometimes makes it hard to play
I guess you never know what you got
Until its gone. . .
All the warnings of the old
Ain’t ever treated as gold
Cause what they say
Never really seems that way
Yet, with all life’s battles
And all the ways we change
Luckily we ain’t like cattle
We get to look back
And see all that we’ve achieved
We learn from the bad
Although it really makes us sad
And all that has made us believe
That’s what should make us thankful
So never forget what you
Achieved, believed, received,
And learned when you got burned
Cause where you belong
Is there where you get strong!
