hear my soul sigh as the dark cloud settles over me,
see the tears roll, why? my demons won. effortlessly.
defeat -
struck by such a deep hopeless aching,
to claim my victory would only be faking...
a voice -
tearing free from some deep sunken hollow in my mind;
the fading voice of sanity echoes back - in a macabre rhyme...
taunting, mocking: "you knew you were never strong.
let the darkness swallow you; it's were you belong..."
the words spinning around me its poisonous cocoon;
ringing in my ears, my body powerless to its toxic tune.
twirling -
sweeping me up and dragging me down,
the dance of death -
scuffling along in a bloodied dressing gown...
the grim audience watching, whispering low:
"come on dear, u want to join us. we know..."
rustling death - their voices melting into one mournful choir;
encircling the dance floor in their gloomiest attire.
pale grey faces hidden behind their deathly masks,
numbness gripping; feel life slipping from my weakened grasp.....
