If I could stare once into your eyes and find
The meaning of beauty or what lies behind
Perfection seems close within my reach and I am silenced
in parentheses when you smile
yet it is with ease you turn your face and walk
you walk away and abandon all you claim to have loved
all you claim to have wanted you forsake for the sake
of being free, if this is what freedom seems to be
now I stare into your soul and find the imperfect monster
the selflessness you portray is a facade that covers the heartlessness
the broken little girl you hide inside is brought forth when you anger at me
you have my pity, you are ugly inside, uglier than me
your angelic beauty is nothing but a front to disguise the devil you are
you seem to exist in darkness and feed off pain
parasitic, life-draining and controversial angel
I am no longer your slave, no longer your pawn
I will take back what you stole from me
I will fight you until my heart belongs to me again
I will never stare into your eyes again, not once
the meaning of beauty was never you.

light can I only find inside....
