I am a chicken that lived somewhere near
a big city, but where the air is still clear
i once had a home
but then i started to roam
I was just taking a stroll on my own
when i ended up somewhere unknown
it was such a strange place!
I could feel heat on my face
the ground was hard and black
with no grass, and i tried to go back
but i was caught in the traffic
i was so scared! it was horrific
then i saw two people coming my way
it was at a crossing on a busy highway
they caught up with me after running quite far
then i sat on the lap of the man in the car
He tried to calm me, but i was scared
i sat so still, because i wasnt prepared
for all this fuss, i mean no one else would
they would rather eat me if they could
but thats not where my story ends!
They took me far away, to a very fancy place
there i lived like queen
with the two cutest cocks you've ever seen
the one called kaptein was as cute as can be
i am much bigger but i think he liked me
my feathers pitch black but my face is pale
i am the highway chick from edenvale!
