since you
the sun
since you
a sharp reminder of pure life
pure love
I’m naked turned inward downward
stomach bare and stomach sore
from sand
no!
sandpaper
filling my mother’s mark of life
I pull myself towards what was there a moment ago
it is the joy I’ve always hoped I’d know
now smothered in sand my body lifting
awkwardly
to allow it to breathe
that mouth of my soul now straining to hear
my heart’s desires
struggling to voice (more naturally)
what it hears without ears
but it can move
and it does
it moves my muscles to respond
creates a rhythm with no fault
when restrained - unbearable
when delivered - unfathomable
when let loose - uncontainable
it is here now this rhythm of purity
this otherworldy hunger for more
this non stop beating of my heart
now shouting its desires
it’s out of my chest now
and it shouts what it requires
it’s climbed onto my head now
and it fervently beats its fists
into my mind
it’s knocking holes in my consciousness
it dismisses my evasiveness
and it makes me decide:
it cannot be my dreams
what I see is what is real
what I know is what is real
and what I experienced was true
so why did I blink on you?
