warm and inviting
I’m waiting for the train to come
a porter pushing a trolley
I watch silently on my own
the contrast
actually so beautiful
happy faces, all the excitement
the start of a great journey
the sad ones saying goodbye
two kids, a brother and sister
patiently waiting
staring down the tracks
in the distance
I hear a rhythmic pulse
tick - tick, tick – tick
my excitement i can hardly curb
I see it approaching
blowing clouds of smoke
a bellowing horn signals its arrival
a flurry of activity
the signals welcome an old friend home
to a slow stop he comes
a final puff
so majestic
surrounded by a mantle of steam
my ride is here
a new journey to begin
in a dream to travel
to places far from here
