There’s no book or movie that describes the pain you feel
The loss that is suddenly there
When a friendship is ended
So unexpectedly
Your heart
Is still searching
For the person that was there
Before, but is no longer there to make your day complete
The many text messages and conversations are no longer part of your day
Now, it is just an empty silence to fill your day
But still you wonder how the person
Is doing on the other side
Do they miss you
The same way, or were you
The only one, stupid enough to believe that
You could also be an important part of their lives
You put on a smile for the rest to look at everyday
But inside your heart is filled with a sadness
That drags your feet and you try
To numb the pain
I don’t understand
How a simple misunderstanding
The wrong conclusions, can be the cause
Of something that just started to grow and maybe would have been
Maybe I will understand in a few years time, maybe it will be five years again
Why you chose to pretend that we have never known each other
And being honest with one another was not part
Of you being honest with me
I wish you well my friend
My heart might need some time to mend
But after all it didn’t stop beating and will continue for some time
With every beat of my heart I hope that somebody else will come and fill the empty space
