Oh Lord, this morning I pray to Thee,
to set this captive free.
Free from these bars surrounding me,
free from bondage, so I can also be!
My prison is not built with iron and steel,
it is self-imprisonment with which I have to deal.
My problems binding me, I have to face,
and realize they cannot be covered in cotton and lace.
Self-hate, unforgiveness, jealousy, words have such a strong hold
and therefor my soul to Satan I have sold.
Under his command, freedom I will never taste.
How many years due to bondage, will I waste?
Freedom to love my brother and myself.
Freedom to forgive and forget - an immeasurable wealth.
Freedom to see Your works through Your eyes.
Freedom to identify, act and stand against Satan’s lies.
Today I need Thee from my prison to break,
not like humans with a file in a cake.
Send Your angels to unlock my mind, my trapped door,
standing against Satan with a spiritual sword.
You showed me that to walk into the Light
I must trust in You and not walk by sight.
Just like Paul and Silas, I fall on my knees,
and sing songs of praises unto Thee.
Even though my circumstances yet haven’t changed,
I now thank You for breaking the shackles with which I was chained.
I had to learn, my problems and worries to forget
and my eyes upwards, only on You, to set.
Words of bondage spoken by other persons
will not put me back into a prison.
The helmet of salvation I will put on my head,
as not by Satan and his co-workers to be lead.
I know salvation is not an immediate thing
but from today to You I will cling.
Lead me through the valley of death and pastures green,
so that Your love, freeing me, by others may be seen.
Thank You on Your firm rock I can stand.
Than You for leading me by the hand.
Thank You for always protecting me.
Thank You, from my prison, You have set me free!
AMEN
