Ladybird with broken wing
how do I know what to speak
to keep you safe and warm until one day
you made me sing when I was weak
you sheltered me from the storm
you mirrored the fire light within me
in that one day
I now regret I brought you near
I should’ve kept you safely far that day
the fire burned your wing and made you cry
my selfish fear pushed you away
I cry now when I sing
and nothing helps
God only knows, I try
Ladybird with just one wing
how I wish to see the light with you majestic as can be
and when you touched my heart to sing as you lifted spirits inside of me

Ladybird I want you to dry those tears than frighten you
spread your wings
hold out your hand

our flight in perfect harmony
maybe was for us to see
the journey with you majestic as can be
your wing’s not broken
