Mother Nature ices her cake with pride
Her breath blows pink into every cheek
With sniffs and coughs the strong feel weak
For weeks, her friend, the Sun, will hide
Whilst Mother Nature sprinkles whiteness, soft and sleek
To her children Nature shall speak
And create great waves of leaves at high tide
As eyes, like burst pipes, leak
One day winter will pass, as the Sun licks frosting off Nature’s cake
The flower maidens will dance with glee and earthly creatures wake from sleep
As bitter, bleak skies are swept away people cease to weep
Mother Nature and Sun prepare their oven for summer’s bake
Whilst Nature’s sweet blossoms play among her children
Spring brings dainty daisies and shy shrubs to greet Nature’s wondrous family
