Ah, You are in my veins
and in the rain
my heart beats according to the drums of thunder and we are one
in my head You shall stay
and in every thought
and when I sing the patter of rain on the roof of a shack
in my lungs You shall breathe
and be present in every breath
and when You breathe in the winds of storms
in my desert You shall plant
and foliage shall sprout
and when sand turns to mud You shall guide
and when I might be lost and without cause
the storms shall guide me and I shall look
unto the guiding light of lightning on open fields and I
shan’t fear because I shall know that the storm is under Your control
and rain shall fall as on the barren soils of many a land
and fertility shall erupt from clay and there shall be life
as on the field so it shall be upon my spirit
