she came into my unkept stable
my legs went numb, my head in a twitch
this mare brought out my inner Clark Gable
I saw her muscles ripple when they unhitch
the blood rushed to my head, I knew I was in trouble
when first our longing eyes met, my heart raced double
how beautiful her withers shine
her tail flowed to the ground
I knew at once she would be mine
our heart forever bound
lost, I basked in her sweet beauty
I dared to indulge in this sight
to my beating heart I had this duty
neigh, a desire, a pressing plight
I watched her closely, this mare of my dreams
heaving her nostrils, she felt the same, it seems
with bated breath my eyes scaled her neck, strong
vibrant life ripples from her crest
her mane caress her shoulder, long
I felt my heart trot in my chest
my eyes flowed down her gleaming back
stifled my breath, as her rump I embrace
restraint I would today sorely lack
if I were my inner demons to face
how do I reach you, my goddess mare
this be my ultimate plight
and I besiege you, laugh if you dare
for I am an unfortunate sight
statuesque you stand before me
16 hands, behold, a dream
suitors there would ample be
endless the line would seem
pony, I am, not measure up, fit to fool
not in my stature, but my heart to prove, adore
that size is not what love’s to rule
what’s written inside, is to weigh much more
so tread softly in my heart of dreams
where ultimate treasure is you
this but a wish, a mere spell, it seems
in my wildest desire to be forever true
