Some tips for those
empty moments
when it is not yet late
and you want to create
with a medium that is not
set in stone or made of bone….
Try your hand at Soduko,
see what an icy wind it can blow.
The last number mostly runs away.
Though you may think it is
a game of Hide and Seek,
to your dismay,
once you find it,
it is not what you thought
but simply, another nought.
Though you may preen and scheme,
a quiz in your favourite magazine
can serve no purpose other than
make you cry in dismay,
when the last letter of the last word
can change the word to be, Yay or Nay.
So from that pastime,
I suggest you also rather flee.
In the confines of a square
it is sometimes hard to declare
and see there is very little difference
between ‘to flee’ and ‘to be free.’
But if you have not yet become a poet,
see what happens once you know it!
You can push and press almost every letter,
it is so supple and would not care less
if you force it into a relationship with a q, be or zee.
Letters can bend over
backwards,
forwards
and to the side,
they are obnoxious.
and do not care to hide.
Grab a word by the ankle, pull it by the horns,
push it on the bottom and press it into a hole.
It will live there for ever
and be so s u p e r c i l l i o u s
and s a n c t i m o n i o u s
and
who are YOU
to declare it is right or wrong?
