“How do I love thee?” they say
and there are so many a way
and today of all days I count them
over and over they dance in my mind
how do I even tell you, how do I begin
how do I return the privilege in kind
your presence completed me within
and today you leave your childhood behind…
my vocabulary lies empty and bare
in your comparison, poorly compare
inadequate my words would be, I fear
as with your first breath our destiny begun
if you asked me to I would dry your tear
reach for the moon, I would put out the sun
I would hold you for many million year
Brighten the stars until your journey is done
And I stand on the dance floor with utter pride
feel how your motion poetry from deep inside
flows like wine, painting colours you move
evolves in front of me my beauty, my child
behold a masterpiece as of musée du Louvre
spirited, liquid beauty, strong and wild
lost in the moment, comfortable in the groove
goddess of motion the angels have styled
rushing my veins of pride and content
erupting my soul, effervescent ferment
move through me the power of music’s desire
unleashing power, heat, throbbing energy
and flows from my fingers my pulsing fire
merging tonight, my daughter, our electricity
as our rhythmic diffusion on our skin perspire
two spirits of the same cell .. poetic destiny
yes, my beauty…shout from your heart
hold your arm up, head banging now thwart
I am here with you swaying in your space
drinking in your passion for this dance exhibit
with tears of joy running down my face
basking in your presence, feast in this banquet
raw my emotion and pride, no limit, unlace
my last chance, my last time bracket
I love you I love you I love you my child, grown
My feelings all are wrapped in this cyclone
of emotion, of feeling, of pride, of loss, of gain
swirling in my emotions, this dance my vent
volatile even in this moment like pure butane
privileged to be at your side at this event
coming of age, now woman with flowing mane
the world at your feet I would wish to present
you don’t have to spend your whole life fitting in
you’ve proven that ten fold, over and over again
you were destined for greater heights known to man
to reach for that star, tap into the ocean
I’ve said this before, because I believe you can
your own spheres you’ll continually broaden
your flight has begun, far greater your wingspan
you were destined to stand out
soar
I’m in awe..
begin..!
