I remember waiting there in the brightly lit
showroom, for me,the classic lines and dark
awe-inspiring interior, the smell of leather
and the pounding of my heart
Contemplating price and virtues, searching
for faults, comparison with others and
researching the history and mystique which
held me spellbound with spiralling fascination
The joy of the testdrive, my hands trembling
and sweaty on the twitchy steering, the roar
of the six cylinders as they pummeled around
corners, exhilirating pressure speeding away
The marque, car and pleasure was all mine!
I remember each time the wide inviting door
enfolded me, quick sure responses and
unswerving defiance of the twisting roads
How sad I felt when we had to say goodbye
Auf wedersihn Blue Lightning, we will meet
again, and ride the thundering highways of
our memories.... steer well and
