Oh my heavenly Father, Lord and Savior.
I kneel before Thee today a broken man.
Forgive me all my sins and trespasses
for I live a life I no longer can.
The pity of the world will glare upon me
whilst I tremble in the valley of the shadow of death.
“Eli, Eli, la’ma sabach- tha’ni?”
Utmost words of agony in a final breath.
For a demon’s parasite is feeding on my blood,
my heart my body my soul breaking like the walls of Jericho.
“Eli, Eli, la’ma sabach – tha’ni?”
On my Golgotha, words drifting in a distant echo…
But then, behold …
The heavens open in jubilation of Your name!
Angels all around in glorious song and dance!
And Jesus on a quilt of silver clouds reaching out for me.
I felt so mere, so humble in His righteous glance.
“Blessed are you my child in your hour of woe and need,
for I will liberate you from your emotive grief.
Be free! Walk and live a life with inner peace!
Proclaim the Word: my Father will bestow merciful relief!”
Though still my blood hosts a fatal bleak demise,
my heart and soul will cease this constant strife.
You led me to pastures evergreen beside waters calm.
Thank you Lord for showing me I still have a life…
