The fading rays of the setting sun
play gently on the sandy beach.
A soft smile hovers on his face,
his dreamy eyes staring far beyond
the waves that are rushing to the shore.
Reminiscences of holding her close,
feeling her gentle touch,
her perfume still fills his mind.
From the deep blue ocean she rises,
floating above the crashing breakers.
Her hair gently blows in the seabreaze
as her silhouette blends with the surrounding nature.
Her arms outstretched,
inviting him to come closer.
He gets up,
reaches out to touch her hand
pulls her to his chest,
eager to feel her closeness.
But just like the sun
she has vanished into darkness,
leaving only the burning memory
of a day that has gone.
As he turns around to return home,
the cool night wind substitutes the familiar heat of day,
replacing the burning emptiness with cool contentment
and the motivation to accept the night,
with the promise of an even brighter day to dawn.
