I heard her cry again last night
I hate all this anger
The endless fight
I hate always having to pretend everything’s alright
What’s going on?
Today the neighbours were staring at me, whispering
I think they are starting to suspect something
I don’t know what’s going on

It never used to be this way
We use to be so happy
We used to be okay.
Dad who was that woman in bed with you this afternoon?
You should’ve listened, mom said she’d be back soon
I heard mom screaming again
She said she hated men
She’s crying again
