Lowlands, Highlands
Whate`er more
There`s nought more compelling
Than the mountains of yore
No valleys so green
No cliffs so blue
It`s here that the Bushbuck spreen
It`s here you find the Leopard`s clue.
Rainforest , mist
Aloe trees bloom
Always the Bushpig exist
Giant rocks loom
The water so sweet
Down on lowlands
Yearlong fruit to eat
Cattle and flocks to hand.
Dry and barren to the North
Beauty in the shimmering heat
Game as bounty for the eye
Just there is it where Limpopo lead
Just reward on the Levhuvhu
for labour so intent
Fruit and trees lush and green
bring visitors from far and wide
to feast on lush and scent
To the West water goes down
feeding deep, hot and burbling up
from Waterpoort into Tshipise
Shimmering feast of Citrus there
Many a holidaymaker rest and ease
Water East goes up
Makhado Valley bears testimony
of milleniums back
Choice of the forebears in abode
Stone walls proclaim
the fruitfullness of waterfalls
and many an offered maiden`s call.
This must be it!
A Garden so content
and full of man`s indent!
