As I walked through the garden one day
My eyes rested on a tiny red rosebud
Small, but yet the promise of unmatched beauty
I picked the rose, as a decoration for my home
Wanting to experience its beauty and fragrance
But the tiny little rosebud wilted and died,
Never realizing its full potential
Never displaying the beauty of a full-grown rose
In the garden of life we often make the same mistake
We only see the beauty of the budding rose
Instead of waiting just a little longer
We pick the rose before it is ready
Causing it to wilt and die
Before we ever experienced the true beauty
Of what could have been, had we waited patiently
Another day, another hour, another minute
But just like the rose that died
Doesn’t stop the tree from producing more roses
Life goes on after every disappointment
A new day will dawn upon us
A new rose will blossom to replace the old
New love will replace the hurting of the past
In time true love, will heal all wounds of a broken heart
