how much you honestly do care
what do I do to make your words free
in order for you to bravely dare
I’d hate to let this go, for it to be over
but the choice you put me in, I fear
short of pleading, I’m left with four-leaved clover
miracles I now pray for, my dear
my tears have left scars as a reminder
of things I promised not to repeat
but here we are, different, but no kinder
the path’s the same - ends in defeat
what do I do for you to show me
where must I stand so to be heard
or do we resign and disagree
for I beg you now –
say the word
how do I get you to really show now
for the miracle to play out
