I’ve been a bit careless
and reckless
lived and loved long and hard
dived in hot and cold water
and swam
sometimes nearly drowned
but always coming up for a breath of air
and to swim ashore again
for a rest
that is if my heart would let me
with little bits of death
in the crevices of my soul
watching the sun doing it’s seasonal dance
two long Winters
then again one short Summer
mostly Winter
and when rested
just to take another leap at life
my heart always finding energy
to love again.
