I chanced upon a stranger today
and for that fleeting moment
I was lost in time,
I could not find my way.
He looked at me, right into my soul
and I was sure there was nothing
about me he did not know, his eyes told me so. I could hear my own heart beating
and for that fleeting moment
I swear I had stopped breathing.
Knees shaking, butterflies fluttering;
I could not help but start wondering
if I was courageous enough to smile
up into those beautiful eyes
would he look back at me for a while
and know that he could be my demise?
How could he not know? My eyes told him so...
